PRESCHOOL IMOLA

THIS SCHOOL, CONCEIVED ACCORDING TO BIO-ECOLOGICAL CRITERIA, LETS THE NATURE ENTER INSIDE HIS FLOWING SPACES.

“When the child was a child, they were unaware of being a child, for them everything has a soul and all the souls were one…” (P. Handke)

The school was designed according to bio-ecology criteria and by analyzing the environment, its occupants and above all the relationship between the two with particular attention to the world of the child. From the outset we need to be aware of the breakdown of the structure, we recognized the need to find a way to bring the outdoors in, and to create a link between the environment and the structure, and we wanted this connection to have meaning for the child. We envisaged an environment that flowed, a space with perspective that connects various spaces within the environment (an inside, and outside and again an outside), a continuous game of free spaces, real and imaginary, where all it takes is a change of position to change perspective. (The idea of a school as a big game).

The school was designed with an eco friendly system of high power production. The building is made from wood, and a computerized system regulates the internal environment in relation to the outdoors.
