HARMONY BETWEEN MODERNITY AND NATURE
Nestled in the greenery of the Varese province, just a short distance from Lake Maggiore, Casa KB stands out for its elegant simplicity and harmonious integration with the surrounding natural landscape. Designed for a family of four, the home spans two floors, offering spacious interiors filled with natural light thanks to large windows that create a strong connection between indoors and outdoors.
The architecture features essential lines and simple volumes, clad in natural and sustainable materials. The wooden structure ensures energy efficiency, while the thermally treated pine cladding and earth-toned plaster blend seamlessly with the environment. Sandy-colored porcelain tiles create an elegant contrast with the wooden details, enhancing the project’s modernity.
The layout of the spaces is designed to maximize comfort and functionality: the ground floor extends over 100 square meters and is accessed through a covered loggia. The main areas include a spacious living room with an open-plan kitchen, featuring windows that overlook the garden and the swimming pool, creating continuity between the inside and outside. This floor also includes a multifunctional room, a wardrobe, a service bathroom, and a technical room. A 65-square-meter garage, connected to the house, provides space for two cars and a storage area.
The first floor is dedicated to the sleeping area, featuring a master bedroom with a walk-in closet and an en-suite bathroom, two additional bedrooms, a bathroom, and a separate laundry room. All the rooms open onto a large balcony that surrounds the floor, allowing for stunning panoramic views.
The project was developed with a strong focus on sustainability, employing passive design strategies to minimize energy consumption and maximize thermal and environmental comfort. With a highly insulated envelope, the home achieves excellent energy performance, ensuring efficiency and reducing heat loss. The materials used, such as wood, come from natural and renewable sources, helping to lower the overall environmental impact.
Additionally, the use of natural resources like sunlight is optimized through the installation of photovoltaic panels on the roof, which provide renewable energy to meet a significant part of the home’s energy needs. The systems are designed to be highly efficient, further contributing to the reduction of energy consumption and CO2 emissions.
With this approach, Casa KB is not only a modern and comfortable home but also an example of responsible architecture, aligned with the principles of eco-sustainability and respect for the environment, which are fundamental to Studio Ecoarch.
